Oh, how I love plate walls! I've admired so many in blogland and on Pinterest
over the past year. Back in May, I hung these two plates next to the mirror in
the entryway. An improvement, but not quite finished.
Today I hung two more plates to the mix.
The top plate and bottom plate were thrifted, the R plate is from Hobby
Lobby, and the blue plate from HomeGoods. Now I need to paint the base
of that boring lamp. ;-)
What do you think of this arrangement, much better?
Thank you so much for stopping by and paying me a visit.
I'd really appreciate it if you left me a comment so I know you were here!

ReplyDeleteThank you, Marty!
DeletePerfect! The plates look as though they belong together!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the lovely compliment, Diane.
DeletePretty arrangement Melanie. Love the plates .

Glad you like it, Judy - thank you!
DeleteI love plates too! They add so much color and texture to a room for very little money (I like that part too) I love your plate wall very creative. Enjoy your weekend!

Thank you so much for your sweet compliment. I hope you have a great weekend, too!
DeleteHi Melanie, Love the mirror and the variety of plates you used. Will you continue on the other side? Not that you need encouraging, but it's so much fun to hunt for the perfect one for your space. Especially if you shop with a friend, hint hint! Have a great weekend, weather permitting. Love, Penny
ReplyDeleteNo, I won't continue on the other side - that would be "too much". Oh, we'll go shopping soon, don't you worry! ;-)
DeleteLove this! The base of the lamp would be pretty in the shade of blue of the one plate. Tell me, what did you hang them with? I'd love to try this!
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
I was thinking of that light blue color for the lamp base, too. Hope that won't be too much blue going on. I used the DISC plate hangers to hang all of the plates except for the large bird plate at the bottom. You can buy the DISC plate hangers at Hobby Lobby. The bird plate was too large and heavy and the circular area in back of the plate where the DISC goes, wasn't flat enough.
DeleteMelanie,
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely entrance to your home! I adore these plates-what a perfectly darling idea to incorporate these. The initial plate is my favorite!
Happy Hugs,
Jemma
Looks great! Pretty soon you'll work your way all around that mirror.
ReplyDeleteBrenda
I don't think so, Brenda...my living room is small and already tends to look too cluttered. I think I like the plates just on the one side - especially with that metal bird picture to the left of the mirror.
DeleteI love the curve the plates make around the mirror.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Carol - I do, too!
DeleteLooks lovely, Melanie! I've always been fond of plate walls. My grandmother had one many years ago and I loved it.

Interesting! I don't think I'd ever seen a plate wall until maybe a few years ago when I started seeing them on blogs. Maybe your grandmother was ahead of her time?
DeleteI love plate walls and the ones you used are just awesome!
