It's gray and gloomy out there today.
And yes ~ that's my tiny back yard. Those big houses are right on top of us
and I hate it. When we moved in here 22 years ago, it was all woods behind
our house. I'm so glad that Brian and Phil planted a row of arborvitaes
ten years ago. They offer a little bit of privacy.
I love grapefruit. I eat one just about every day.

Speaking of books, I finished two this weekend.

Guess it's no surprise that I love word puzzles. The only newspaper we get
is the Sunday Chicago Tribune. I always work the Jumble.

In constant motion...this and the washer and dryer. I think the dishes
and laundry multiply faster than rabbits in my house.

Now it's off the the grocery store to pick up a few things before
my yoga class later this evening. How's your Monday going?

ReplyDeleteAs to your questoin, about my breakfast plate ... when my friend Mona came from Lebanon, she brought me fresh wild thyme which is the main ingredient in zaatar when dried.

She also had made me some flat bread with it that is great to have with morning tea (or coffee in my case). I wanted to try and make the zaatar bread as my mother-in-law used to but it didn't quite turn out (I'm not good with making a dough). But I still ate the biscuits toasted and dipped in lebaneh which is the white creamy stuff. Strained yogurt that is eaten for breakfast or dinner topped with olive oil. And the olives were spicy Moroccan green olives! Yum!

DeleteGoodReads is great for our reading motivation, isn't it? It is small like this in Holland throughout the country. But having had woods behind you would be a shock to your system. *sigh* Some changes are not good ones.

ReplyDeleteThe houses across the street from me have the same big house situation. They built that subdivision about 6 years ago and the set back requirement is like nothing. My neighbors have no privacy when they are in their back yards. Good thing you planted those aborvitaes! Leyland cypress are good screens too and grow fairly fast.

DeleteI love grapefruit for breakfast in the morning, too. I'd probably eat berries every single day if I could , but they tend to be expensive. Love all the snoozing kitties. I'm on goodreads, too. But lately I haven't had much time to read, so my account is getting stale.
