A lot of you know that my son, Tim is an artist.
One of the classes he's taking in college right now is a Sculpture class.
Last month they had to make a sculpture out of an old chair
and this is one of the things Tim came up with.
I love it! I think it's very artistic and modern.
Goes well in our modern orange-walled family room.
I started decorating the wall behind Tim's drum set.
(This isn't his "real" drum set, by the way. This is just his practice back-up set. You can probably tell by the condition of the set, plus check out the drum "throne" - a kitchen chair!)
Collected classic rock albums from Goodwill ~ 99 cents ~
and bought frames at Michaels and Hobby Lobby when I had 40% off coupons.
Found the musical notes wall decor at Hobby Lobby.
I have three more albums to use (you can kind of see them on the floor in the background),
so I think I'll hang them vertically on the wall to the left.
Thank you for taking the time to visit ComfyHouse...have a great week!
Nice sculpture!
ReplyDeleteI love the album covers on the wall and knew all of them except the bottom right. The Monkees one made me smile. I framed a couple of Greg's from when he was in High School - a Bob Seger and R.E.O. Speedwagon - and hung them in the den. There is a Bad Company one still to hang, and I'm looking for Eric Clapton. I love the look!
I love the sculpture...my daughter had to make a few in her classes. This one is awesome and I would display it, too!
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
This is my first time to visit your *comfy house*....I'm going to add you to my blog roll so I can find you again and come back. _Ashley

I always love your basement decor, wonderful job dear Melanie! I especially like the music corner. My sister did something similar for her musical son, she took black and white photos of keyboards, guitar strings, etc and framed them. Looks very cool!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea for wall art! I see Davy Jones. :-) Tim's sculpture is really neat and looks great with the color of your room.
