Funny how spaces look so sparse and boring when the Christmas decorations come down, don't they? Here's what I have going on in part of the living room right now. I like to play around with making different vignettes on tabletops and shelves.
I'm having a hard time with this cloche though. I like what I have in it so far...but it needs more. Any ideas? Maybe I should also tie a ribbon around the top of the cloche?
I've always loved the picture below with the girl in the winter scene. I picked this up at a resale shop a few years ago.
I bought this table last year at Goodwill for a few dollars. It is solid wood and love the curvature of the legs. I was going to sand it down and paint it last year, but ran out of time. In the meantime, I stashed the table in the basement. I came across it the other day and thought, "Why not use it as is for now; it'd look pretty in the living room with some plants on it."
Love your vignettes. I like your cloche and what you have in it is pretty. If you don't want a ribbon, how about a little raffia tied around the top. Your table with the plants is so pretty. What a great find. Looking great. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteMelanie, I love that table. I am always trying to
ReplyDeletefind tables to put plants on because I don't have windows where the good light is. Nice job.
Such pretty things! I love all the green, too. The vignette in the cloche is adorable!
ReplyDeleteWell, you know I LOVE ribbon on a cloche! I love your decorating. How about coming to my house and decorating it for me?
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking raffia or a burlap ribbon tied on. Or the crafting twine would also be pretty. Maybe just add a pop or red???
ReplyDeleteLove your table with the plants on it.
how about a filler in the bottom, beads, buttons, rafia, pinecones, berries, and I agree a bright ribbon or piece of torn raggy fabric or lace tied on the top. I love your new table. Don't you just love making your house pretty.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great find that table was! I love those curvy legs. I also love how you've used the space below the windowsill to hang things. I think the bird on a pretty plate is enough under the cloche and a ribbon or something natural like burlap or twine would be a nice addition.

That is so true, things look so different after the decorations are down! Your home is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHave a pretty day!
Kristin
Lovely! I love your green mirror.
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of the raffia ribbon around the top (in brown)... and then inside - a little bit of greenery - maybe with some red berries on it...
ReplyDeleteI love the picture of the girl! She reminds me of our Heidi in Holland...

Now Melanie, I'm suprised you are missing the Christmas decorations! Not me, I like my house so much better without them. Fresh and clean!
ReplyDeleteLovely vignette, Melanie! I love the clean lines of the cloche arrangement and how you used a mirror as the base! The goodwill table was a real find...I can see you have a great green thumb!
ReplyDeleteOooh, that table is just adorable as is! What about adding some green to your cloche with plants?
