comfort food

When it looks like this outside...
gray, bare trees, snowy...

It's time for something warm, filling, and comforting.
 In this case, vegetarian chili.

I like my chili topped with shredded cheddar cheese, with a side of warm cornbread.

Or, perhaps you'd care for a plate of baked ziti with mozzarella and fresh spinach?

Those are a couple of the dishes I made for dinner last week. What's been cooking in your house?

There's nothing better than a big pot of soup or chili. It looks soooo good! Enjoy!

  3. Yummy looking food! This evening we had Xmas left overs -- a casserole of turkey, dressing and gravy served with green beans and mashed potatoes .... and cranberry sauce, of course. Very warming!

  4. This all sounds absolutely delicious. I'm a vegetarian so it is nice to see something without meat :)

  5. Yummy! I love chili and cornbread. Can I pull up a chair? I have not made any chili this winter and should put that on my menu soon.

I am a little jealous of your snow over our rain.

Can you share the recipe for the baked ziti? I love things with spinach in them.

  7. Not much of anything being cooked around here. I have a protein shake at supper. But I sure grew up on big skillets of cornbread!
