This is what we woke up to this morning. The snow finally just stopped...wet, heavy, wind-whipped snow that dumped a few more inches on us. Wonder if we'll get any trick-or-treaters? We don't get many as it is.
Snow this early in the season is rare for us. Sure, it's almost November and we did cover up all the patio furniture last weekend (always makes me sad), but snow? A very cruel trick, Mother Nature.
Just a few days ago, we were still enjoying the beauty of the color change...
enjoying a bonfire in the back yard....
and our usual walk down to the lake after dinner.
I'm looking out my window at the poor leaves on the trees covered in snow; some branches so heavy that they're bent to the ground.
Happy Halloween ~ enjoy some treats!

Snow?!? No!!! I am so not ready!! 😉
ReplyDeleteFor the first time ever, I am glad our trick or treat is held the Sunday before Halloween.
ReplyDeleteWow! Snow is pretty but I rather see fall leaves!
ReplyDeleteI hope the branches didn't break with the weight of the leaves and the snow. It is quite pretty from my perspective where it is still plenty warm. How ever today we are supposed to be under 80 as a high which is a huge break.
ReplyDeleteSnow ... brrr. But is was cold here too Now it's "warm" again and still raining a bit. Nice photos.
ReplyDeleteOh, I envy you being able to take a walk to a nearby lake my friend! But I do not envy you the snow. We didn't get any fall, just straight to winter. Sad.
ReplyDeleteBrenda
As you know, we had snow earlier in the week. I think we probably were the ones who sent it to you;) Oddly enough I enjoyed it, but we had so little color this fall that it would have been a different story if it ruined it. That maple tree is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteYikes! That is a cruel trick. I'm glad you were able to enjoy and document the fall colors before Mother Nature got tricky. Your walk to the lake looks particularly lovely.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the reminder that winter and snow is on the way. I still have lawn furniture to get in and the push mower is still outside needing to be put away. I need to get myself in gear and get moving. Today starts another chemo session, but if I spend some time making a list . . . it will help. Lists always help me.
ReplyDeleteYour collection of Autumn photos is beautiful . . . sorry about the early snow.
Stay warm, sweet friend.
Connie :)
