unofficial start of summer

(my niece and my son)

What a glorious, full, extended weekend!

Tons of errands, more yard work (Brian planted coleus in-between some hostas ~ they will be so beautiful when they fill out), my "baby" niece's high school graduation party that ended with us sitting around a bonfire and talking late into the night, lunch on the river at a nearby restaurant, getting things done around the house, and ending the beautiful evenings on the patio.

Here's to a beautiful summer.

  1. Melanie,
Every year I am in awe of your garden and oh those Hostas, they are such beauties and what a colorful and abundant presentation it will be when the coleus fill in between them.
Your backyard Oasis filled with so much love and beauty!

  4. Melanie - Looks like a wonderful and peaceful start of summer. I think everyone is ready for summer, however, I'm not into hot, hot weather. But, I won't complain. LOL

  7. Your garden areas are looking lush and beautiful! I really like the pretty yellow on your stool...is that for inside or out?

Are we finally over the cold temps?

Hope all is well with you!

  8. Sorry to hear that your knee is still acting up, but keep doing those PT exercises; they can do wonders, it just takes a while.

Your hostas are so healthy looking and vibrant, Melanie. I know you're waiting for some colour, too. It will be there in no time now that it's warmed up.

  13. I think you know I had meniscus surgery three years ago and to be honest, my knee has never been quite the same. I can still do whatever I want whenever I want, but I occasionally get a twinge in that knee that let's me know something is going on. Definitely keep up with the PT Melanie!

Your plants look wonderful, and so enough there will be plenty of color :).
