Here it is, the first day of autumn. It slipped in with all its splendor, casting upon us the
clearest blue skies, a warm breeze, and maple trees tinged with red.
Kitties sit in open windows and chitter at the squirrels who are teasing them
from the tree limbs.
Touches of fall decor have been unearthed from a bin in the basement simply marked
"Fall" and placed around the house.
Homemade soups are once again becoming a staple on our dinner table,
providing nourishment and warmth for the cooler, longer nights ahead.
Goodbye, summer. Hello, fall. You always bring a tinge of sadness laced
I always get a case of the blues when fall comes around. I love the bright warm days with all the beautiful colored trees, but it's also the end of summer days spent outdoors. It's a good thing I've got plenty of half-finished indoor projects to keep me busy! Have a good day and I hope your soup hit the spot!

Our weather has been so beautiful here...I'm spending time outdoors as much as possible! The bees are insane right now though.
DeleteYour little touches here and there are lovely, I like the idea of the popcorn used as decoration around the candles in your hurricanes, I want do so that but never remember to buy any corn!! Soup sounds like a great idea for this time of year too!! xx
ReplyDeleteThis was actually expired popcorn I found in my cabinet! Good way to recycle it, huh?!
DeleteThe tree is starting to show off. I saw that soup on IG. You are such a good cook. xo, olive
ReplyDeleteI love watching this Maple change every year. It's amazing how it changes from day to day. Thanks for the compliment on my cooking. :-)
DeleteFall colors are arriving here now, too...and I have started making soups and casseroles again. Your home is looking like fall!
ReplyDeleteAnd now our weather has been around 80 so I've stopped with the soup! We were walking around the neighborhood tonight and smelled grilling going on at several houses.
DeleteI love your white pumpkins that appear in different places of your home.
ReplyDeleteThey're just little orange ones that I spray-painted white. ;-)
DeleteCutely comfy, love the pumpkins, I have to get busy and get some pumpkin stuff up before it passes by.
ReplyDeleteLoved my homey visit here! :)
See you soon
Xx

Thank you so much for your visit, Dore!
DeleteIt really is autumn in your neck of the woods. While are just on our second month of spring. Soups are so in demand during cooler weather, so comforting and soothing. Hope you have a good week. By the way how's the garden going?
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Aida
I hope you are enjoying your spring! My herb garden is still going strong and so is the butterfly garden, except for the purple coneflower and black-eyed susan. Still have some little tomatoes ripening.
DeleteYou have warmly welcomed the new season, Melanie, with such cozy colours around the house, in accessories and hearty fare!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
Poppy
Thank you so much, Poppy!
