cats!

Some of you are already familiar with the famous Zippo...the ultimate in pussy cats. He's friendly, playful, and so sweet and affectionate, that I can hold him in my arms like a baby and gently rub his belly. He follows me around the house and sleeps with me every night. He was my One and Only until...

this pretty thing showed up on my front porch a week and a half ago! Meet Clementine.

Kind-hearted soul that I am, as well as a cat lover (read: sucker), I took Clementine in and made her feel at home. Took her to the vet to get checked out and...guess what? Take a look at that belly below.

So. Who's up for a kitten once they're weaned?

  1. Clementine is just precious! I already have four kitties (plus three dogs!), otherwise I'd take one. :)

  2. Sigh. I'd love a baby kitty, but my mean old husband won't let me. :o) Both of your kitty babies are gorgeous.

  4. Hi Melanie!
I have 12 (13 if you count a neighbors cat that is neglected) rescued cats. Last summer 2 showed up within 1 week of each other both pregnant. I was lucky enough to find homes for all but one little guy who I kept and named Bruce Wayne.
I find it amazing that a pregnant cat knows when it needs help and in desperation tries to find a good person quickly. You must be a wonderful person for her to come to the door and trust you. I will pray that good homes will be found quickly. Bless your heart!

  6. Hello Melanie- I'm a new visitor from Cozy Little House. What cute cats! I actually just had a stray adopt me this week. We have been trying to find his owners (if he has any). If we have no luck over the weekend I'll be taking him to the vet next week and bringing him inside to meet the rest of our cat family...which will bring my total to 4. Don't know how that happened! It's so hard to turn away a loving cat without a home. You are a kind soul!

  7. Thank you for being so kind to the kitties who come into your life. So glad you have taken little Clementine in, in her condition. I'm sure that Zippo will get used to her soon and they will become good friends. We adopted two kitties from the shelter almost a year ago and we just love them to pieces! Best of luck finding homes for the kittens... she looks very young, so maybe her first litter will be small.

  9. Thanks for sharing the photos & story of your sweet kitties. I'm so glad that Clememtine
found a caring home! We have one sweet kitty. He is a very large and looks very like
photos I've seen of Maine Coon cats. Whatever, We love him and spoil him. Theres nothing
like a cat all relaxed and sleepy lounging on the sofa to set a contented scene.
