How was your Christmas? Ours was good. Games, too much food, good company on Christmas Eve, some lovely gifts from Brian.
Quiet times by the fireplace were certainly appreciated, too.
I'm not in the mood to write much. I have some loved ones in the hospital right now and also - out of the blue - plantar fasciitis attacked my left foot and I'm in a lot of pain.
I've been slowly de-Christmasing my house and trying to put things back in order, but moving slow and taking lots of breaks. I left lights and greenery on my mantle for a warm, winter look. Not done tweaking, but this is good enough for now.

I'll just leave this here...
Thank you for reading my blog this year, sparse though it may be at times. Wishing you all love, peace, and good health for the New Year.

I’ve been reading your blog for years. Your home is really well done and I enjoy seeing all your pretty things. I also have loved ones in poor health. I’m 74 so it’s to be expected that my friends and relatives are starting to get sick, but it’s hard none the less. Blessings in the new year.
ReplyDeleteHi Melanie. I have dealt with plantar fasciitis at times in my life and it is so painful. Not fun. I hope that your family members are soon healthy and out of the hospital. You home always looks great - so tastefully done!. I will be taking Christmas things down as soon as we get back home tomorrow. I always enjoy see what you are doing, so hope you will continue your blog, although I also see some of your posts on Facebook. I hope you have a good 2024! See you again soon.
ReplyDeleteHello, and Merry Christmas! Your home is lovely. Prayers for your loved ones, and a for a Happy and Blessed New Year!
ReplyDeleteI've enjoyed your posts on Instagram throughout the holiday. I'm not sure if I've like or commented -- it's been endlessly busy around here -- but I always enjoy hearing about what's going on in your neck of the woods! I'm so sorry about the plantar fasciitis. I suffer from it, too, and it is so debilitating. I thought I had the latest case under control, but i just told Dan that I'm going back to my podiatrist after new year's and see if he'll give me a steroid shot. It's the only thing that fixed it in my right foot, and now the left one has become chronic. Good luck with yours! A foot brace at night seems to help mine. Love seeing the peacefulness in your home. I'm gradually de-decorating mine, too.
ReplyDeleteGlad your Christmas was nice. I had plantar fasciitis years ago when I was on my feet as a nurse and I feel your pain. Hope it gets better for you. Happy New Year. Hugs. Kris
ReplyDeleteI love your lights on the mantel. So beautiful. I hope your foot feels better soon. And yes, that is the proper amount of sage. 😂
ReplyDeleteHello Melanie, I told you on Instagram that I don't remember what I did with my plantar fasciitis over 40 years ago but I think I remember an x-ray and shot involved, plus cutting out the thing that triggered it, which was propping the bad foot on the rung of a rocking chair while I was breastfeeding my 3rd baby. But I do remember the agony very well and hope your pain goes away asap. I'm so sorry to learn of family members in hospital. It was wonderful that you had loved ones with you for Christmas Eve and board games are such fun. Your fireplace mantel is lovely for winter, not just Christmas. You know I can't bear to take down my Christmas for a long time. Many hopes and wishes for all for 2024, Dewena.
ReplyDeleteHa ha! Yes, that amount of sage looks just about right.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear of your foot pain and loved ones in the hospital. I do hope all will be healed and well again soon.
My favorite part of Christmas was delightful, the kids and grandkids came to spend the night and celebrate Christmas. It was chaos, and absolutely perfect. The rest was just noise, which I could take or leave. I love how much we both enjoy our fresh January homes. Ahhhh.
ReplyDeleteLove the sage meme...hahaha! Very true. I wish you a lovely 2024...one that requires a lot less sage for sure!!
