24 years and ignore that header

Twenty-four years ago today, I gave birth to my second son, Timothy. It's hard for
me to believe that my "baby" is 24 years old already. He's in school right now as a
photography and art major. He's been home most of this week and went out last night
with friends to celebrate his birthday. So this mama only got a few hours of sleep last
night because I can't sleep until I know my child is home safe and sound. I'm sure most
of you moms with young adult children know exactly what I'm talking about!

We're going out to dinner tonight to one of those Asian food places where you take
a bowl and go around to different stations, choosing your protein (meats, seafood, tofu),
veggies, and lastly, spices and sauces. You then bring your bowl of food to the cooks
who stir-fry it all up in front of you on a big grill.

While I was up late last night, I played around with my blog header in picmonkey.
I couldn't get the dimensions exactly right and I finally had to give up out of
exhaustion and frustration. I'll have to work on it later when I'm not so tired and
can concentrate.

Happy Friday! What are your plans for this weekend?

  1. Well I like your header!! I know how hard these are to do, they take some time, so I admire you even trying, and I like the little house a lot!! It reminds me of a cosy log cabin somewhere - or a comfy house!! Hee hee! Happy Birthday to Tim, I hope you have a great meal out, that sounds like lots of fun, I have never been to a place like that. I think that parents all worry about their children no matter what, my Mum still worries about me, when I am off doing my own thing in my house living life she doesn't give it a thought, but if I am at my parents or returning from there she worries! Some things never change do they!! Hope you have a great weekend and that Tim enjoys all his celebrations. Happy Birthday and Happy Christmas! xx

    1. You are right - the mum worrying thing is universal and never ends! I like the basic premise of my header - it just needs to be smaller and I need to remove the box around it.

  2. Happy birthday to Tim! He seems like a really good, responsible and happy young man. I hope you have a good dinner celebration together. I can't get over how much Tim looks like you. I think you both have the same eyes, especially.

    1. Some people have said that (that Tim looks like me), but if you saw both him and Brian (my husband/Tim's dad) in person, you'd see that Tim looks much more like him!

  3. I don't go out on weekends. Too many people. If you want to just take the black outline off, you can do that in Blogger and just leave your header.

    1. I was trying to do that in Blogger last night with no luck. I have to keep playing with it. It gets very aggravating!

  4. Happy birthday to your dear son. I don't think we ever outgrow that waiting up for a child to come home feeling. It's just a mother thing.

  5. It's a mom thing.Doesn't matter how old they are. When my daughter leaves her home in Wi and goes back to DC...I have a hard time sleeping. She's in her 50's. She says, "Oh, Mom" but I think she likes it. A nice way to know that you are loved.

  6. Have a wonderful birthday celebration and Christmas. I leave in two days for Christmas with my Colorado kids. It has been an exhausting week and nothing to do with Christmas. Hug

  7. Happy Birthday, to your sweet son, Tim! May he be blessed with good health, love, and happiness! I think he is an amazing combination of both you and your husband, Melanie. I'd say he definitely has your eyes!

Well, talk about not being able to sleep! Our babies may be all grown up, but of course, to us, they're just our little boys or girls! Liberty is flying in for Christmas, and so you can imagine this mother's worry until she lands on Cretan soil. If we don't text every single day, at some point, on Facebook, I just cannot relax.

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas, my friend!

    1. If you saw Tim and Brian in person, you'd probably say that Tim has Brian's eyes! I hope you enjoy every moment of your time with your daughter - I'm so glad she flew in to Crete for the holidays!

  8. Happy birthday to your son. My baby is 26...time sure does fly.

If you go into layout, then header, click remove image...but don't save. If you look down, it will tell you the size it will be re-sized to. My crafty blog header is 1370, yours may be say 850...width by the way...the length is up to you. Ribbet usually has the re size dimensions set so if you are going with say 850 width, the length will be pre-set. You can change it. I am not familiar with PicMonkey so not sure about the re-sizing there. . Hope that helps.

  9. Happy Birthday to your so. I am dreading my son's next birthday because he will be 40 and it will be hard for me to admit I have a child who is 40.

Good luck getting the header right. That is one reason I don't change mine much.

    1. You're only as old as you feel, Carol - which means you're about 20, right? I'm still playing around with my blog and trying to get the dimensions just right.

    1. Yes, the food was delicious. I'm not a big meat eater, so I only added a little to my bowl, but I filled up on a lot of different veggies with the noodles. Merry Christmas!
